The Upper Delaware Preservation Coalition Sends a Letter To the Department of Energy Asking for Denial of NYRI's Request for Early Approval of an National Electric Transmission Corridor Along the Delaware River

The Upper Delaware Preservation Coalition sent a letter to the department of Energy urging them to deny the New York Regional Interconnect's request for an erly designation of a National Interest Electric Corridor along the Delaware River. Reasons cited include the negative visual impact of high-voltage power lines in the river corridor, the severe economic losses that will result from decreased tourism and recreational use of our area, inappropriate proximity to several scenic byways and the overall environmental impact to the region.
